Lulu Krause's 2019 in Review
My 2019 guiding intention was, “Think about the word ‘Confidence’ as much as possible.”
Goals Achieved in 2019:
2012 goal: perform on the stage of Joe’s Pub
2015 goal: move into an editorial job
2018 goal: cook all of the sides at Thanksgiving
2019 goal: learn to “paint big”
Career
-
In January of 2019, I applied for and got a job on the editorial side of Condé Nast Entertainment where I worked with a whole roster of people I’ve admired from afar since starting at the company (on the advertising and sales side) in 2016
-
At the very end of the year my job changed again, and it feels like it will be ultimately challenging and ultimately rewarding
-
My proudest accomplishments at work include:

Performance
-
I performed on the stage of Joe’s Pub at Henry Koperski and Larry Owens’ “Spirit Night”
-
I performed my one-woman show, “Louisa, Requested” to a sold-out audience at The Duplex on my 29th birthday
-
I became part of a new musical improv house team at the Magnet Theater

Art
-
I orchestrated a single-take 6-minute dance video that featured 9 friends, dancing through Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
-
I wrote and starred in a video for Glamour in which I got to include my two friends Henry Koperski and Jay Jackson
-
I sold my first painting
-
I developed an amazing working relationship with my collaborator Natalie Sullivan, and we created a lot of stuff together, including a pilot

An episode of “Sunset Sessions,” from a song-writing project I launched with Natalie
Walking
-
I walked to work (from Carroll Gardens to World Trade via the Brooklyn Bridge) A LOT
-
I refined my walking route, which is a 4-hour stroll up the coast of Brooklyn, into LIC, and finally across the Ed Koch Bridge into Manhattan, which I did almost weekly, beginning in April
Cooking
-
I cooked all the sides at our Thanksgiving dinner (garlic mushrooms, mac and cheese, Sriracha brussel sprouts, orangey cranberry sauce) -- except for the mashed potatoes. That will be next year.

Me, cooking all of the sides
